Hearing Care and Hearing Aid Services
Hearing Assessments
Scheduled and performed by our licensed and nationally certified Hearing Healthcare Professional are subject to professional fees. Insurance often covers these services.
Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations
During your examination, you will be tested using a series of words to determine your ability to hear and understand verbiage within a conversation. You will also be given several words to repeat as part of the exam. The results will help us understand your current ability to both hear and understand speech, and determine the severity of hearing loss, if any. We will also use hearing aids so you can experience both better hearing and improved understanding.
Custom Earmolds and Earplugs
Hearing protection is extremely important for anyone who is regularly in a high noise environment (ex., hunters, musicians, construction workers). Although store bought ear plugs offer some protection, custom earmolds and earplugs offer maximum protection and a comfortable fit that are specifically designed for your ears.
Hearing Aid Dispensing & Fitting
Once you have selected your hearing aids, our audiologists will program them based on your personal prescription to meet your hearing needs. Our audiologists will explain how to use the devices, how to put them in the ear and how to remove them, how to change the batteries and how to care for and clean your devices. It is a good idea to bring a family member or close friend to the hearing aid fitting as they can help you remember all of the information that is provided.
Industrial hearing screenings
For those that work in certain occupations where it is required to receive regular hearing assessments due to their exposure to noise and potential risk for hearing loss, we can provide hearing screenings for you that comply with the standards set by OSHA.
Real Ear Measurements
Live Speech Mapping is a fitting process that uses probe microphones and live real-time speech to allow the patient and their family members to immediately see and understand the benefits of hearing aids and fitting adjustments.
Evaluation and Fitting for Musician’s Ear Plugs
Musicians practice and perform in a variety of different settings. They are exposed to high levels of sound, sometimes for long periods, which may put them at risk for permanent hearing damage. Musician’s ear plugs are custom-made devices that help to limit the sound exposure from instruments, while still providing a rich musical experience for the performer or audience.
Otoacoustic Emission Testing (OAE’s)
Otoacoustic emission testing allows the hearing care expert to understand how the outer hair cells of your inner ear are working.
Tinnitus – Ringing or Buzzing in the Ears
What’s that ringing in my ears? Did you know that over 50 Million Americans are affected with ringing in the ears, called Tinnitus?
Cerumen Management (Earwax Removal)
While cerumen (earwax) is a natural part of ear health, proper management is necessary to prevent potential issues. By following safe practices and seeking professional help when needed, you can ensure the health of your ears.
